Dr Orit Kopel, Founder of EthicsAI, is an AI ethics expert, keynote speaker, and entrepreneur, specialising in the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence.
Dr Kopel holds a PhD in Law from King's College London. Her doctoral research developed a principles-centred ethical framework for AI, applied to the case study of UK police use of Live Facial Recognition Technology. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the London School of Economics (LSE), specialising in Human Rights Law.
Dr Kopel is a qualified lawyer with a distinguished executive career. She served as CEO of the Jimmy Wales Foundation for freedom of speech, co-founded WikiTribune alongside the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, and founded Glass Voices, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women and advocating for equal opportunities and balanced gender representation in public life.
